CM lays foundation for Nawaz Sharif IT City in Lahore

In Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif officially launched Pakistan’s first Nawaz Sharif IT City Project on Saturday.

The CM revealed the official logo of Nawaz Sharif IT City and a documentary about the project was shown at the ceremony.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between CBD and 15 IT & Education companies for the project. CEO CBD Mansoor Janjua and representatives from national and international institutions signed the MoU.

Awards were given to individuals who showed outstanding performance in various Information Technology sectors. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif also took photos with the award recipients.

CEO CBD Authority Imran Amin explained the goals and objectives of the Nawaz Sharif IT City project. He mentioned that Pakistan’s first Data Centre is being established in the city.

Ambassadors from China, USA, Turkey, and other countries attended the ceremony. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed all the Ambassadors, Provincial Ministers, and other participants.

During the foundation laying ceremony, the CM stated, “We have laid the foundation stone of Nawaz Sharif IT City Project in just 2.5 months.” She expressed joy and happiness as a new history was being created with the project.

The CM attributed the IT City to Nawaz Sharif, highlighting his contributions to modernizing Pakistan and promoting progress.

She emphasized the need for an IT revolution in Pakistan and praised CEO Imran Amin for his work, urging him to complete the IT City promptly.

The CM announced plans to establish incubators for youth in the IT sector and mentioned a Skills Development Program for 4,000 children, offering market-based IT courses with expert trainers to help them secure jobs after training.

Nawaz Sharif IT City aims to provide opportunities for youth to advance alongside the global IT industry. The CM also mentioned that children completing IT courses will receive international certification to facilitate obtaining free licensing.
