Earthquake tremors felt in Islamabad, Peshawar and other cities

Earthquake measured magnitude 6.5 hits Japan

On Thursday, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake rattled Islamabad, Peshawar, and various other regions of Pakistan, including Swat.

Reports suggest that the tremors were also felt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas such as Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, and Swat, as well as in Muzaffarabad, Lower Dir, and Malakand.

The earthquake monitoring center measured the intensity at 5.3 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 130 kilometers underground. The epicenter was located near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.

Following the earthquake, residents emerged from their homes and offered prayers. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage thus far.
