Reports have emerged that eight judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) have received threatening letters, causing concern among the judiciary.

The letters, purportedly from a person identifying as Ms. Resham, the wife of Waqar Hussain, were devoid of a return address, adding to the mystery.In a disturbing turn of events, one judge’s staff discovered a powder-like substance inside the envelope upon opening it, raising fears of potential harm.

IHC Chief Justice Amer Farooq has confirmed the receipt of these alarming letters, emphasizing the seriousness of the threats made against the high court.In response to this unsettling development, the Islamabad Police chief and DIG Security were summoned to the high court to take immediate action.

An investigation has been launched by the police to determine the source of the threatening letters and to analyze the suspicious powder found within them.The safety and security of the judiciary are of paramount importance, and swift measures are being taken to address this concerning situation.”
