SIALKOT: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated on Saturday that those who attacked sensitive installations on May 9 are now seeking talks with the military. He emphasized that “selective dialogue” will not be successful.

Addressing a press conference in his hometown, Khawaja Asif mentioned that the PTI founder had made it clear that talks could not be held with three parties – PML-N, PPP, and MQM-P. In contrast, he highlighted that they have been open to talks for the past 18 months and stressed the importance of a national dialogue to address the country’s issues.

Khawaja Asif noted that a red line was crossed on May 9, expressing his disapproval of the PTI’s negative politics and attacks on military installations. He also mentioned that more information would be revealed soon, criticizing the PTI chairman for tailoring his narrative to suit the situation.

He assured that everyone would be held accountable according to the constitution and law, citing video evidence implicating the PTI leadership in the attacks on May 9.
