ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commended Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his efforts in transforming Saudi Arabia’s economy and society, calling his policies an inspiration for the world.

Shehbaz was referring to the Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to reduce Saudi Arabia’s reliance on oil by diversifying the economy through promoting industries like manufacturing, tourism, and entertainment, as well as implementing social reforms.

During an interview with Saudi TV channel Al Arabiya, Shehbaz highlighted the strong and unique relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the special bond they share.

The prime minister also mentioned his participation in a recent event in Riyadh called “The Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development” organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF), where he met with Saudi officials, including the crown prince, and discussed cooperation in various areas, such as training Saudi Air Force pilots.

Shehbaz praised Mohammed bin Salman, also known as MBS, for his achievements in the IT sector and expressed Pakistan’s interest in benefiting from Saudi Arabia’s expertise in this field.

He highlighted the discussions on solar energy investment during Pakistan’s delegation visit to Riyadh as areas of mutual interest and cooperation.
