PMD predicts rain, windstorms in many parts of country

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir over the next 24 hours.

There may also be isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorms during this time. Light rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms are expected in a few areas of north Balochistan, South Punjab, and upper Sindh.

Hot and dry weather is expected in the rest of the country. A westerly wave is currently affecting the upper and central regions of Pakistan and is likely to continue for the next two to three days.

In the past 24 hours, most of the country experienced hot and dry weather, with central and southern areas experiencing very high temperatures. Rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad, north Balochistan, and Kashmir.
