PTI decides to boycott Senate chairman, deputy's election

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to boycott the election of the chairman and deputy chairman of the Senate.

The PTI’s political and core committee believes that this election is unconstitutional and plans to challenge it in court. According to sources from the core committee, the Senate was incomplete during the election, making it unconstitutional.

Additionally, the Senate election did not include senators from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which goes against the constitutional scheme.

Without a chairman, the Senate is unable to function properly, limiting its decision-making abilities to administrative matters only.

This is the first time the Senate has become non-functional in a democratic setting, and the PTI is demanding action against those responsible for this situation.
