Islamabad: The scrutiny of nomination papers for the 48 vacant seats in the Senate is set to take place on Tuesday.

The updated list of candidates vying for these seats will be revealed on March 26, with candidates given until March 27 to retract their nomination papers.

In the nation’s capital, National Assembly members will cast their votes to select Senate members, including one for a general seat and one for technocrats, including ulema.

Members of the four provincial assemblies will also play a crucial role in shaping the Senate’s composition. They will elect senators for seven general seats, two women seats, and two seats for technocrats, including ulema, from each province. Furthermore, one seat each for minorities from Punjab and Sindh provinces will be filled.
