PMD forecasts mainly dry weather for most parts of country

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted mainly dry and hot weather for most of the country, especially in central and southern parts, over the next 24 hours.

However, there may be partly cloudy weather with a chance of rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in some areas of upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

Gusty winds and windstorms are expected in south Punjab and upper Sindh. A shallow westerly wave is currently affecting western and upper parts of the country and is likely to continue in the upper parts for the next 18 to 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, the weather was partly cloudy and dry in most areas, with hot temperatures in the southern parts.

There were isolated instances of rain and drizzle in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and north Balochistan. On Friday, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, and Jacobabad were the hottest places in the country, with temperatures reaching up to 42 degrees Celsius.
