Ambassador Marilina Armellin of Italy held a meeting with Minister for Defence and Defence Production Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the minister emphasized Pakistan’s strong commitment to strengthening its relationship with Italy, particularly in the defense sector.

He highlighted the potential advantages of military training exchanges, pointing out that Italy’s Armed Forces, as part of NATO, possess valuable experience, while Pakistan’s Armed Forces are well-versed in counter-terrorism operations.

Additionally, the minister underscored the importance of exploring opportunities for collaborative defense production.

The discussion also touched upon the current security situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with Pakistan reaffirming its dedication to promoting peace and stability in the region.
