Form-47 victor over Form-45 in Feb 8 polls: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

Form-47 victor over Form-45 in Feb 8 polls Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has expressed serious concerns regarding the fairness and transparency of the February 8 polls. He highlighted the issue of Form-47 taking precedence over Form-45, leading to doubts about the accuracy of the election results. Abbasi humorously pointed out that even Google seemed confused about the outcome, turning what should have been a means to achieve political stability into chaos due to alleged rigging.

Abbasi criticized political parties and leaders for failing to address the country’s challenges during their campaigns. He noted a peculiar situation where individuals appeared hesitant to assume power, yet power struggles remained prevalent in the political landscape. Despite the potential harm to the nation, the power struggle persisted, with no party or leader taking responsibility to tackle the crisis.

Abbasi emphasized that while he did not oppose elections, he believed that elections alone would not solve the country’s problems. He called for a shift away from power politics towards finding genuine solutions to the challenges facing Pakistan. He expressed gratitude for abstaining from the current chaos by choosing not to participate in the election contest.

Regarding Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Abbasi clarified that he had not left the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and was open to leading the PDM again. He criticized the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for allegedly misusing power for political purposes, citing ongoing charges against him for six years and injustices faced by individuals in the courts. Abbasi expressed hope that the incoming government would swiftly address these issues and consider abolishing NAB.
