Pakistan expressed disappointment at the absence of Indian diplomats from the Iftar dinner held for ambassadors at the Foreign Office (FO). Despite the new government’s desire for positive relations with India, the Indian High Commission displayed behavior that goes against diplomatic norms.

Prime Minister Shehbaz, along with ambassadors from other countries, was invited to the dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on March 27. However, the Indian diplomats did not even respond to the invitation.

It is worth noting that former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari hosted an Iftar dinner in 2022 where Indian diplomats were present.

Pakistan was disheartened by the no-show of Indian diplomats at the recent Iftar dinner for ambassadors at the Foreign Office (FO). This absence was seen as a breach of diplomatic etiquette, especially considering the new government’s efforts to foster positive relations with India.

Prime Minister Shehbaz and other ambassadors attended the dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on March 27, but the Indian diplomats failed to acknowledge the invitation. Interestingly, Indian diplomats had attended a similar event hosted by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in 2022.
