PM Shehbaz Sharif postpones foreign trip amid political uncertainty

Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif has made significant changes to the Council of Common Interests (CCI). The official notification for these changes has been issued with the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

One of the key changes outlined in the notification is the inclusion of the foreign minister in the CCI for the first time in the country’s history, replacing the finance minister.

Prime Minister Sharif will serve as the chairman of the eight-member Council of Common Interests. The notification also specifies that all four chief ministers will be members of the CCI.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has been appointed as a member of the CCI, along with Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Safron Minister Engineer Amir Muqam. The Council of Common Interests was originally established on 21st March.
