IHC rejects FIA employees’ petition against extension in job contract

IHC rejects FIA employees' petition against extension in job contract - UTV Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the request of three Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) employees for an extension of their contracts.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of the IHC issued a written judgment on the petition.

The three employees were hired as sub-inspectors on a contract basis in the FIA Cyber Crime division in 2019.

The department’s selection committee found that their job performance was below standard. The committee also had concerns about their character and ongoing departmental investigations against them.

Justice Mohsin stated in the judgment that extending the employees’ contracts did not violate their basic human rights.

As a result, the IHC dismissed the employees’ petition.

Komal Anwar, Tanveer Ahmad, and Farhan Ali, FIA employees, had challenged the decision not to extend their contracts in the IHC.
