Court forbid PTI founder, his wife from maligning state institutions

The Accountability Court in Islamabad has prohibited the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and his wife from making negative statements about state institutions and their officials.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana made this decision during a plea hearing from the PTI founder for a fair trial. The court also banned any indirect references to state institutions and their officers during the trial.

It was claimed that the PTI founder’s political and biased statements against state personnel were hindering the justice process and fair trial.

The court also ordered that the media should not cover the accused’s statements in the trial case.

Additionally, the prosecution, accused individuals, and their lawyers were instructed not to make any inflammatory, political, or biased statements during the hearings, and family members and others were also prohibited from doing so.
