Four Iranian Revolutionary Guards killed in Israeli strike on Damascus

Israeli soldiers kill two Palestinian gunmen in West Bank, military says

An Israeli missile strike in Damascus, Syria’s capital, resulted in the death of four members of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards. Among the casualties was the head of the force’s information unit.

This information was provided by a security source in the regional pro-Syria alliance to Reuters. The Revolutionary Guards in Tehran confirmed the deaths of four military advisers but did not disclose their rank. They stated that further details would be released later.

Iranian state television reported that the targeted building was the residence of Iranian advisers in Damascus. Israel, known for its ongoing bombing campaign against Iran’s military and security presence in Syria, has not yet commented on the incident.

However, it has escalated its attacks following the October 7 assault on Israel by militants from the Iranian-backed Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in Gaza.
