ATC considers pre-arrest bail plea of PTI founder in May 9 riots Case
The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore recently considered a petition from the PTI founder seeking interim bail in connection with a case involving riots on May 9. The proceedings were presided over by ATC Judge Arshad Javed, during which Special Prosecutor Rana Shakeel argued that the PTI founder was the primary accused in the May 9 events.
He claimed that witness statements supported the allegation that the PTI founder had incited party leaders to set fire to sensitive installations. The court adjourned the hearing for a later date. This comes after the ATC had previously agreed to hear the PTI founder’s petition for pre-arrest bail in the same case on February 24.
