Zelenskiy expresses gratitude for approval of Ukraine aid by US House

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed his gratitude on Saturday for the U.S. House of Representatives passing a military aid bill for his country.

He mentioned that this assistance would save lives and help bring a just end to the war with Russia. Zelenskiy wrote on X, thanking the United States House of Representatives, both parties, and Speaker Mike Johnson for their decision.

He believes that this bill will prevent the war from escalating, save many lives, and strengthen both nations. In his nightly video address, the president mentioned that the aid would directly benefit soldiers on the front lines and praised American leadership for upholding a rules-based international order.

Zelenskiy stated that they would use American support to make both nations stronger and end the war justly, emphasizing that Putin must lose this war. The legislative package includes $60.84 billion for Ukraine, with $23 billion allocated to replenish U.S. weapons, stocks, and facilities.

The U.S. Senate, having passed a similar measure two months ago, is expected to approve the bills next week for President Joe Biden to sign. Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko highlighted the provision of $7.8 billion for budget support in the legislation.
