Rain forecast: CM Maryam instructs officials to be on their toes
In Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has instructed the civil administration to quickly take steps to protect citizens during heavy rains.
The chief minister has asked commissioners, deputy commissioners, and the managing director of WASA to stay vigilant as heavy rains are expected in the province until April 29.
“All available resources should be used to ensure rainwater is drained on time, and officials need to be out in the field,” said the chief minister.
Additionally, the chief minister has ordered measures to be taken to keep traffic flowing smoothly in Lahore and other cities during the rain. She emphasized that traffic wardens must carry out their duties effectively on the roads.
Furthermore, the chief minister has instructed rescue officials to relocate citizens to safer areas if necessary during the rains.
